Mellow Drama Presents the Follow-up to the Hit Play "MY FIRST TIME!" -
Ooghna Duncan's "Talk Thirty To me"
In 2010 approximately 57,000,000 people on earth will turn thirty.
Kendra, Vanessa, Darren, John, Tim, Ben, Mira and Sam are eight people and are being interviewed about it.
In general, they feel great about turning thirty. As Vanessa points out, "Anyone stressing about age is silly, it's the most inevitable thing in the world". And besides—they are all way too busy to worry about age and status quo.
Except that:
- Darren was supposed to be a movie star by now
- Mira escaped the war in Yugoslavia but can't stop thinking about the other thirtysomethings out drinking martini's at posh clubs.
- Ben has £.71 in his bank account
- Kendra just left her husband for a woman
- Sam doesn't want to stop partying
- Vanessa forgot to date in her twenties
- Tim wishes someone would punch him in the face until he gets some sense knocked into him.
- Jake is just going to move to Indonesia
In Talk Thirty to Me , the characters feel their clock ticking as they examine how they measure up at the age of unquestionable adulthood. They discuss the legacy of the boomers, looking for love on the internet, the biological clock, student debt, cellulite…and death.
Every word in Talk Thirty to Me is verbatim, based on over 100 hours of recorded interviews with 29 year olds, proving that the truth is stranger-and funnier-than fiction.
Opening Weekend 3rd - 5th December 2010
And final weekend 10th - 12th December 2010
Tickets:
Opening Weekend - €10
All other shows - €15
Starring:
Julia has always enjoyed acting and, from an early age showed signs of her future calling when locking her grandparents in a room and forcing them to watch her perform. She took this evident enthusiasm and fine tuned it in England where she studied theatre. Her roles on stage, both in the UK and Malta, have seen her tackle a huge variety of different types of theatre because, as she says, it’s always nice to try out different things. She proves this with her jump from the thespian stage with leading roles in Othello and Tempest to her dive into the more somber world of Six Character in Search of an Author and Medea. However, her love for comedy overrides all and she feels in her true element when on stage providing the audience with a good laugh. From Perfect Wedding to An Evening with Gary Lineker and from Kissing Sid James to The 39 Steps, Julia is most at home when bringing smiles to people’s faces.
